Veggies in Lisbon & Cascais


Whether you are vegetarian or not, but just need a break from traditional food or the desire to try something else, the next list of veggie restaurants will delight your mouth and senses. We love all kind of foods, but veggie food definitely is the best that fits for our body and gives us better physical strength and flexibility for our yoga and acroyoga classes, trainings, workshop... As well we love to cook veggie, as we do in some days in our retreats.

Lisbon

  • Ao26 (Rua Vítor Cordon 26): near of Cais do Sodré, in this small restaurant you will find veggie hamburgers, sandwiches, salads and delicious desserts. They have as well very interesting daily meals. Highlight: the classic Portuguese veggie version of "bifana".

  • Graça 77 (Largo Graça 77): in the neighbourhood of Alfama, in this restaurant, you will find a good variety of wraps, salads, soups and war dishes. Perfect after a visit to this historical and touristic area. Highlight: sweet potatoes fries.

  • Os Tibetanos (Rua do Salitre 117): near of Marques do Pombal, this is the oldest vegetarian restaurant in town and part of the Tibetan Buddhism School, just in case you want to do something more than eat. Htey have delicious Asian veggies dishes, as curries but as well western ones, like quiche. They have a nice courtyard as well. Highlight: rose-petal ice cream.

  • The Food Temple (Beco do Jasmin 15): if you want to try something different, this is your place. The daily menu is changed everyday according to seasonal products and different cuisines, a really meal-experience. They have a terrace and an indoor communal table. Highlight: let you surprise by the cook and enjoy a tasty dinner.

  • PSI (Alameda Santo António dos Capuchos): this big dining room surrounded by glass walls, it is perfect for a tasty lunch. If you have kids, they have even a playground directly in front of the room and as well as childern's menus. Highlight: seitan meatballs.

  • Jardim dos Sentidos (Rua da Mãe de Água 3): near of the Bairro Alto, this restaurant jewel is the palm tree garden where you can eat some delicious veggie dishes. They do not have a big menu, but if you go for the less than 10 euros daily lunch menu, is a good choice. Highlight: daily menu with fresh juice.


Cascais

  • Dona Flor Cafe Bistro (Rua do Poço Novo 180 / Cascais): this small and cosy restaurant is placed as Tripadvisor number 5 of total restaurants in Cascais. It is less than 5 minutes by foot from our retreat. They have as well two chairs on the street if you want to enjoy outside a nice coffee. Highlight: let them surprise you by the daily plate "prato do dia" for less than 10 euros.

  • House of Wonders (Rua da Misericórdia 53 / Cascais): in the top 30 of total restaurants in Cascais according to Tripadvisor, this is a unique place worth to visit, even if you are not so hungry, enjoy a delicious drink in one of the terraces.small and cosy re. Highlight: a vegan cake with a natural juice while you enjoy one of the terraces.
